Matt Martindale, long time lead singer, guitar player, and writer for the Texas based band Cooder Graw, has headed out on his own. Martindale has penned such Texas anthems as Llano Estacado, Better Days, Lifetime Stand, Clarksdale, That Girl Crystal, Two More Tears in Texas, Booger on my Finger, and many notable others. Now Martindale has taken his pen out on the road once more, with new beginnings. The Matt Martindale Band, is bringing the new show to the Texas Crown Performance Hall on February 20, 2010!

Stellar Kart is a Christian pop punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The band is signed to INO Records and released its first album in February 2005. Some of the singles from their debut album, All Gas. No Brake - including "Finish Last" and "Life Is Good" - have been played on Christian radio stations such as Air 1. Their album, We Can't Stand Sitting Down was released on July 25, 2006. The album's first single "Me and Jesus" hit #1 for 7 weeks on the Hot Christian Songs chart and won the 2007 Dove Award for "Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song".

Reviving a favorite tradition, the Canadian Arts Alliance has announced the dates for its 2010 Drama Camp. According to Canadian Arts Alliance Project Coordinator Mistie Walser, the camp will be held from June 28 to July 2, 2010, at the newly refurbished Texas Crown Performance Hall. A musical version of Pinocchio will be presented on the evening of July 2.

Although there are exceptions to the rule, there’s no hiding the reality that women artists generally have a harder time making an impact on the Texas country and Red Dirt music landscape than their male counterparts. It may not be fair, but – due to fans (male and female alike) who for whatever reason are stubborn to accept women singers and songwriters, and club owners who are set in the belief that “chick singers don’t draw” – it’s just the way it is. But although Kristen Kelly has certainly been around the scene long enough to know the daunting obstacles ahead of her, she doesn’t sound discouraged at all on Placekeeper, her second album with the Modern Day Drifters and first with her name on the title.

Add in "Fight Like This," a charting active rock single, which was featured as a promotional song for Ultimate Fighting Championship, and the aggressive outfit is certainly entering an ascending chapter of its burgeoning career.

You don't want to miss "the" holiday event of the year as Mary Jane Johnson presents "Christmas in Canadian" on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Texas Crown Performance Hall.

 

Ms. Johnson is counted amongst the great dramatic sopranos, and is considered one of opera's premiere interpreters.  Her career highlights include the role of Emilia Marty in Janacek's The Makropoulos Case which she sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Lady Macbeth in Verdi's Macbeth as well as Katarina Ismailova in Shostakovitch's Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, which she performed at the Opera Bastille of Paris.  She has also performed the Shostakovitch as well as Minnie in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West, and Strauss' Salome at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
